MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT. THIS MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT, entered into this ____ day of January 1922, by and between the President of the State Board of Agriculture and the Inspector in Charge of the Local Office of the Bureau of Animal Industry, of the first parties/part, and the Board of County Commissioners, County Attorney, Sheriff and members of the Excise Board of Sequoyah County, parties of the second part, Witnesseth: Parties of the second part, recognizing that the eradication of ticks which transmit Texas or splenetic fever in cattle is necessary for the proper protection of the health of such animals and for a developed dairy and beef cattle industry, and marketing of all classes of cattle, horses, mules, and asses, in our several official capacities do hereby agree: 1. To provide funds sufficient for the construction of any additional cattle dipping vats necessary, for the purchase of necessary material for making dipping baths, for cleaning and filling vats, and for salaries for the number of competent county inspectors necessary to supervise systematic dipping, inspection, or treatment of all cattle, horses, mules, and asses the number of times and at such intervals as, by the representative of the parties of first part, is deemed necessary to accomplish the complete and certain eradication of the Texas Fever Tick in Sequoyah County. 2. That the representative of the parties of the first part shall have full charge of the work of tick eradication and shall have the choosing of such inspectors, subject to the approval of the majority of the members of the Board of County Commissioners, and said representative shall have power to dispense with the services of any such inpsector at any time and employ another to fill the vacancy/created, thus subject to the approval of the said Board at its first regular or special meeting. 3. That no salary or expenses shall be paid from the tick eradication fund except on claims approved by the representative of the parties of the first part. 4. That suitable office space and desk in the county court house or some other suitable place and telephone service shall be furnished free of expense to the representative of the parties of the first part.
