Henry Jacobs (colored), saw Will Grayson and Henry McNeal get guns night of the riot. J. B. Stratford came over and got crowd a little after seven o'clock. Stratford said "Boys, we will send and get Muskogee crowd, and you go on up and lay there till they come". Will Jones in crowd. Youngest Mann boy (low, chunky one) got shot. John Smitherman, Deputy Sheriff, also there, gathered up crowd and came up town. Will Grayson shooting next morning. Will Grayson shot white woman, Mrs. S. A. Gilmore, on her front porch between Cincinnatti and Elgin; Grayson had Winchester. McNeal is his own house had a 45 pistol. Smitherman brought Stratford in in car about seven o'clock; also Smitherman, Editor, was there. Crowd assembled on Williams street. J. E. Farr, 1215 N. Detroit, knows Henry Jacobs; lives 300 yards from where woman was shot; saw lots of shooting coming from Henry's house. Mrs. Gilmore's porch faced Henry's house. Shots going out of little house on corner, could tell by screen wire being bent outward. (Not much good) John Henry Potts saw John Smitherman going north about seven, going towards Choc joint, and later came back with a crowd in a car and said "Come on boys, let's go down town." A. J. Perrine (McGee's Store, 1435 S. Elwood) Bill Hood sold gun, we found out it was the second gun sold; found other gun at Snake Morris' house. $35.00. Witness, Kirkland, man bough gun. Carmichael.
