I have seen Nick Remiger under the influence of liquor at different time; a traffic cop on Second and Boston told me he had bought whiskey from Nick; this traffic cop's name is Paris; I don't know his initials, He said he bought whiskey from his about a month ago; said he bought it at Remiger's house; said he always got all the whiskey he wanted from Nick; we get him to go to the police commissioner, Adkinson, with Mr. McNaughton, and file a complaint asking to have Remiger removed; sever different person went asking for him to be removed; I went myself, and I believe Mr. Schue went; Adkinson said we would have to get somebody to buy it from him to make a Federal case against him, and Parish says "I have bought it from; I have drunk whiskey at his house that has been confiscated and taken from the police station out there, and they have parties out there and make lots of money off of this whiskey. He told all that to McNaughten traffic cop on Main and Fourth, and McNaughten took him up there to Adkinson's office; this fellow says he goes out and gets a car load once a week; he goes to the distilleries and gets as much as 20 gallons at a time and you can got here any night and catch him at his house. I own a garage, and the boys who rent it got behind with their rent and I went down to see what was the trouble, and they said they couldn't pay me right then, that Mack had been drunk, and that Nick Remiger came down there and said he had made a deal with Mack to put new casings on his car, and he got the new casings and there was no charge made; he supposed they had taken it out in whiskey, about $200 worth; Mr. Richards down there will testify as to this, as he thinks it is because his partner has been getting whiskey from Remiger that they got behind with their rent; the two Thomas boys can testify to this also. There are about seven more Jake stores than we had under Hubbard; they are springing up all over town. We are trying to raise money now to get
