D. R. Rolland, after being first duly sworn on oath states the following:
I.
That he is well and personally acquainted with Joe Piro, the owner of Lot No. 4 in Block No. 46 of the original Town of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and have known him for the last past three years; that I was a tenant of his for two years prior to and including the 1st day of June 1921; that I was in the possession of one sixteen (16) rooms house of his for the above states period of time; and that I paid him a monthly rental for the use and occupancy of said premises the sum of One Hundred Fifteen ($115.00) per month, or the sume of $1380.00 per year for the same; that this property so used and occupied by me was upon the above designated ground; affiant further states that the above said house was destroyed by fire on the 1st day of June 1921.
II.
Affiant states that it is his knowledge and belief that the above described property was destroyed on above said date at the hands of whie men, after the colored men had been taken to the different detention camps; (except this affiant, who was at said place until premises was set) and that the city government of the city of Tulsa, Oklahoma either was unable to cope with the situation or refused to do so. Further affiant saith not.
