RE: Red R1 ver Compact
Engineering Advisory Committee
---
Please find enclosed a- summary draft copy of the meeting of our committee on
November 17, 1982 in Dallas-Ft. Worth. Please review this and advise me as
to your concurrance or corrections as soon as possible. As you recall, we
had some discussion on the possibility of making up some kind of "atlas type"
book of maps, showing the total area of our compact in a somewhat better or
more workable. form than what was included in our report. If we were to use
the Army Area map series or the 1:250,000 maps, they would layout like the
attachment shown. One set would require 22 of these at the current cost of
$3.25 per sheet or $71.50 per set. I would estimate each set would require
about 40 man-hours to add the drainage areas, gages, bindings, etc. This
type of mapping system with the addition of 7.5 minute quadrangle sheets of
the areas where gages are or will be, should cover our present needs. Maybe
we can consider these again at our nest meeting.
Also, for your approval, I am attaching a draft form of an invitation I am
prosposing to .. il to the Vicksburg, Dallas C. O. E. Divisions and the
State's U. S. Geological Survey offices. Here again, I have attempted to
follow your instructions on this matter and if you have any corrections or
revisions, please advise me as soon as possible. For now, I would think
somawbere in the first two weeks of February is probably a favorable time for
this next sessiou, and I will be telephoning you very soon for your answer on
this.
