The 35th Meeting' of the Red Ri ver Compact Commission was held
in the Southland Hotel, Dallas, Texas on 19-20 January 1966.
Attached is a list of those present (Incl 1),
The meeting was opened at 10:00 A.M. Each of the Commissioners
discussed the organization and aims of Arkansas on all Compact
matters, stressing the point that Arkansas is changing from a
"one-man" approach to one that will enable all interested parties
to be informed and to participate in Compact negotiations.
The minutes of the 34th meeting were approved without change.
A brief summary was presented on the current status of
negotiations and future ~ork of the Commission.
Each of the designated reaches were then discussed, starting
with the proposal for each reach as developed in the 34th meeting.
These discussions led to the development of agreements on each reach
as shown in the attached paper, "Status of Agreements, by Reaches
as of 20 January 1966" (lncl 2). During the discussion of Reach 6
Mr. Leonard Hough of the Southwestern DiVision, CE discussed flows
from Corps of Engineers' projects in the Little River system, and
answered questions concerning those flows.
