Occupational Safety & Health Consultation Fact Sheet What is the Safety Pays® OSHA Consultation service? Safety Pays® OSHA Consultation service delivers direct one-on-one assistance in the form of safety consultants and industrial hygienists. These certified professionals work with companies to develop high-performance workplace safety programs and to eliminate serious hazards that could result in costly federal fines and penalties. Each consultation by the Oklahoma Department of Labor Safety Pays® OSHA Consultation Division includes: • A hazard study to help identify any existing or potential physical or environmental hazards or unsafe workplace practices. • Recommendations for improving plant safety. • Evaluation of each facility's job safety and health program, including identifying weaknesses and providing recommendations for improving the program. • A comprehensive report detailing the findings of the consultants. • Training and technical assistance to help the company implement recommendations. We have unlimited national resources such as: • OSHA Institute • OSHA Technical Support Centers • State consultation services in all other states • Wisconsin Occupational Health Laboratory • National Institute of Occupational Safety & Health What makes the state service different? • It is free, non-punitive, voluntary, confidential, guaranteed. • State consultants are trained at the OSHA Institute. They receive the same training required for federal compliance officers. • State consultants do not write citations or assess fines. • It is not the same as federal OSHA enforcement. • All information obtained about you or your company is not provided to federal OSHA. The information is strictly confidential, as required by law.
