Helping Marriages Become Forever. For Real.
Marriage and relationship education will return to Oklahoma in 2009 with a new look and a new name.
The Oklahoma Marriage Initiative programs, however, will continue to present the same message of teaching Oklahomans essential skills and tools for developing healthy, lifelong marriages. Beginning in January, the programs and workshops will be known as “Forever. For Real.”
“The message is simple: we want people to think of marriage as a commitment couples make forever,” said Kendy Cox, director of service delivery for the Oklahoma Marriage Initiative. “And, it’s real – it’s important, and it’s not a fairy tale. It takes hard work and dedication. That’s what creates the magic!”
OMI tested the new name and logo in Tulsa over the past several months with positive results. The campaign will be extended statewide in 2009.
Valentine’s Day kickoff
The 2009 tour will kick off with major events Saturday, Feb. 7, in both Oklahoma City and Tulsa, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
“Valentine’s Day is a time when couples are naturally thinking about their relationships,” Cox said. “We want to provide an opportunity to complement efforts to nurture relationships by offering a FREE gift to all couples – the gift of skills for improving the foundation of their marriage or relationship and preventing problems from ever gaining a foothold.”
