Kids Helping Kids Campaign Kicks off in 2013: Oklahoma 4-H’ers will start the new year by raising money for the 2013 Oklahoma Kids Helping Kids Campaign. The campaign is dual-purpose in that it raises money for the local 4-H clubs across the state, as well as serves as a community service project for the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Oklahoma City a non-profit that provides “a home away from home” for families with seriously ill or injured children who are being treated in the Oklahoma City area. In the campaign, 4-H’ers across the state will be asking for $1 donations in exchange for a coupon to participating McDonald’s restaurants in Oklahoma. The campaign will begin Jan. 1 and last approximately two months, with all of the forms due in the State 4-H Office on March 8. Of the funds raised, one third will remain in participating local 4-H programs, one sixth will be given to the Oklahoma 4-H Foundation, and one half will go to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oklahoma City. The funds given to the House will help finance the newest facility, which will be located within The Children’s Hospital of Oklahoma City and will allow families to be housed just 2 minutes and 15 seconds away from their loved ones.
