Sandy Bole Reach Higher Bachelor's Degree Student "I'm learning something every week that I can take back to the office and use on my job." Val Seward, Reach Higher Associate Degree Student "My son watches me go to college, and now he's going to follow in my footsteps." Paul Bush Reach Higher Bachelor's Degree Graduate "I knew that I needed to finish my degree. Reach Higher let me set up my own schedule so I could plan my semester and make everything work." The Reach Higher Story After a feasibility study, the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education gathered nine regional public universities in 2006 to design and deliver the Bachelor of Science in organizational leadership degree program across the state. The first eight-week courses were offered in March 2007. The program is comprised of 10 core (major) courses in areas of organizational leadership, professional communications, data analysis, fiscal management, ethics, management and marketing. Additionally, each institution develops courses in an area of focus specific to business needs in the local community. Students may develop internship experiences, and all students engage in a capstone course at the conclusion of the program. In 2010, academic officers from the public community college system began development of an associate degree completion program. Utilizing labor projection data of occupation growth expected in Oklahoma and the education necessary for those positions, the academic officers developed the Associate of Arts and Associate of Science in enterprise development degree programs with options in business administration and general studies. The first associate degree classes were offered in spring 2011.
