Shelter by Almira Hill Grammer Governor's Gallery Untitled by Regina Murphy East Gallery Dead Tree by Grant Leadership Arts Sessions Begin Thirty-two individuals from 22 Oklahoma communities were on hand at Quartz Mountain Lodge near Lone Wolf for the first session of the 2013 Leadership Arts program. The first session included group activities and panel discussion centered on arts education. Panelists Amy Young, Lisa Allswede, Nicki Wood and Michael Eddens discussed the need for renewed focus on the arts in public education, citing the growing body of evidence that arts education fosters overall academic improvement and social development. The session also included a tour of Quartz Mountain Resort, home to summer and fall art programs offered by the Oklahoma Arts Institute. Session two takes place March 20-21 in Miami, OK.
