Latimer, McCurtain counties share highest county unemployment
rate to open 2013
Latimer and McCurtain counties began the year tied for Oklahoma’s highest county unemployment rate of 9.8
percent. LeFlore County posted the second highest rate for January, while Latimer County provided the third
highest monthly rate. Ellis County claimed the state’s lowest January unemployment rate of 2.4 percent. All 77 of
Oklahoma’s counties reported unemployment rate increases over the month.
