The State 4-H Office and the Roundup committee continue to look for people to present educational workshops to youth ages 13-19. The workshops need to be hands-on, motivational, upbeat, and age appropriate. 4-H Roundup is an excellent recruitment tool for OSU. Tracy Beck, Events and Activities Coordinator in the State 4-H Office, said surveys have shown the majority of 4-H’ers attend OSU because of their positive experiences as a Roundup delegate. Her goal is to have at least one workshop from every department within DASNR. Please contact Beck at 405-744-8891 if you have questions or need additional information. Condolences to: Radonna Sawatzky, Extension Educator, Family and Consumer Sciences/4-H Youth Development, Custer County, on the death of her father. Jimmie McPhearson passed away March 20. Funeral services will take place tomorrow, March 23, at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Christ, 1701 Pine St., Weatherford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Church of Christ Building Account. Cards may be sent to Radonna and her family at the Custer County Extension Office, Box 170, Courthouse, Arapaho, OK 73620. AWARDS Congratulations to: Donna Curry, 4-H volunteer leader in Pittsburg County, who was recently recognized as the southern region recipient of the Outstanding Lifetime Volunteer Regional 4-H Salute to Excellence Volunteer Recognition Program award. As a regional recipient, Curry received $200 to be donated to the 4-H program of her choice, along with a $400 travel scholarship to attend the Regional Volunteer Forum.
