The Research Division in particular the Archives brings order out of chaos. The photograph of the Pryor Tornado symbolizes the utter chaos that comes from a variety of events whether they are personal, social or weather related.
In the past three months, the division has been very active in collecting, sharing and preserving books, maps, photographs, manuscripts, film and video. We now can view some of our more interesting historic films on YouTube. If you were to go on the OHS website under Research then click on Film, look down towards the bottom of the page will be an icon where to click and view films.
One of the more important acquisitions to come into the Archives required a three way partnership with the Friends, the 1889er Society and a special private donor account with our Research Library. The item is a very rare broadside (poster) that announces special rail service from the Wabash & Western Railroad to enter the Unassigned Lands in order to make the Run in April 1889.
