Brown I&E Specialist The Bowhunting Council of Okla-homa selected two officers from the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation to recieve prestigious awards. Wade Free (A), assistant director of operations, received the council’s President’s Award. Robert Fleenor (LE), Law Enforcement Division chief, received the council’s Wildlife Professional of the Year award. The two men were honored Feb. 9 at the council’s 2013 annual ban-quet, held at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant. Council President Bob Wiebelt said his organization does not take these awards lightly, and the group works to maintain the integrity of the honors. Wiebelt said he selected Free for this year’s President’s Award because of his support for the bow-hunting tradition. “In several meetings at the Wild-life Department, he has stood up for Oklahoma bowhunters many times,” Wiebelt said. Wade Free Assistant Director Robert Fleenor Chief, Law Enforcement BUSY AT BASSMASTER Bill Wentroth, Fisheries Division North Central Region supervisor, and Chris Whisenhunt, Fisheries Northeast Region biologist, stay busy handing out “Lakes of Oklahoma” atlases and “Oklahoma Fishing” guides at ODWC’s booth at the Bassmaster Classic Expo in Tulsa. Dozens of Department personnel volunteered to make the 2013 Bassmaster Classic in Tulsa and at Grand Lake a remarkable success.
