United States Department of Agriculture National Agricultural Statistics Service Oklahoma Crop Production Oklahoma Wheat Forecast Unchanged From May Oklahoma: The state's June 1, 2013, wheat production is forecast at 114.0 million bushels, down 26 percent from last year, according to the USDA-NASS Oklahoma Field Office. Acres expected to be harvested for grain, at 3.8 million acres, are down 500 thousand acres from last year. Average yield is forecast at 30.0 bushels per acre, down 6.0 bushels from 2012. This report contains the results from the June Ag Yield and Objective Yield surveys. Our thanks to all the farmers who responded to these surveys and to those wheat producers who permitted objective measurements to be taken in their fields. United States: Winter wheat production is forecast at 1.51 billion bushels, down 8 percent from 2012. Based on June 1 conditions, the U.S. yield is forecast at 46.1 bushels per acre, down 1.1 bushels from last year. Selected states and their winter wheat production compared with 2012 include Kansas, 307.8 million, down 19 percent; Washington, 119.7 million bushels, up 1 percent; Texas, 60.0 million bushels, down 37 percent; and Colorado, 60.2 million bushels, down 18 percent.
