OSTP: The scope and general administration of the Oklahoma School Testing Program (OSTP) is outlined in state law (70 O.S. § 1210.505). Rules that govern the specifics of test administration and other details are available under Oklahoma Administrative Code (OAC) 210:10-13. Oklahoma state tests are used to assess student achievement; target student, classroom, and program improvement; and inform parents of student progress. The administration of these assessments fulfills No Child Left Behind (NCLB) and state mandates for testing. OCCT: The Oklahoma Core Curriculum Test (OCCT) is intended for the majority of students. This assessment is given to regular education students, students who are on an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or a 504 Plan, and English Language Learners (ELL). It may be given either with or without approved accommodations. PARCC: The Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) is a 24-state consortium, including Oklahoma, working together to develop next- generation K-12 assessments in English/language arts and math. PARCC will include Performance-Based Assessments (PBA) administered after approximately 75% of the school year and End-of-Year Assessments (EOY) administered after approximately 90% of the school year. For more information please see http://www.parcconline.org/3-8- assessments and http://www.parcconline.org/high-school-assessments Alternate Assessments: Alternate assessments are used to evaluate the performance of students who are unable to participate in regular state assessments even with accommodations. IEP teams, including the parent(s), use the Criteria Checklist for Assessing Students with Disabilities on State Assessments to determine the most appropriate assessment for children with disabilities. OAAP: The Oklahoma Alternate Assessment Program (OAAP) portfolio utilizes alternate academic achievement of the standards, which differ in complexity from grade-level achievement of the standards, but are linked to Oklahoma’s academic content standards. A one percent cap exists for the reporting of students who score proficient on the OAAP. The cap does not limit the number of students participating in the OAAP, only the number who may be reported as proficient for federal accountability purposes. DLM: Oklahoma is currently 1 of 15 states participating in the Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM) consortium and has assisted in the development of an alternate assessment aligned to the Common Core Essential Elements (CCEEs). The CCEEs are direct statements about the content and skills expected of students with the most significant cognitive disabilities at each grade level and are linked to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). This assessment option is intended for students with the most significant cognitive disabilities in the areas of English/language arts and math. OMAAP: The Oklahoma Modified Alternate Assessment Program (OMAAP) is an alternate assessment based on modified academic achievement of the standards. The OMAAP will no longer be an option for first time test takers beginning with the 2013-14 school year. However, for the 2013-14, 2014-15, and 2015-16 school years any student who participated in the OMAAP EOI during the 2012-13 school year or prior and was unsuccessful has the option to retake the OMAAP in the same subject area in order to apply a modified proficiency score for ACE graduation requirements. ACE: The Achieving Classroom Excellence Act (ACE) is a statewide effort to raise expectations for student achievement in Oklahoma public schools. ACE sets forth requirements that must be met in order for a student to earn a diploma from an Oklahoma public high school. All students must demonstrate proficiency (scoring satisfactory or advanced) in Algebra 1 and English II; as well as two of the following five: Algebra II, Biology I, English III, Geometry, and U.S. History (70 O.S. § 1210.523).
