Langston University Marching Pride Band delivers during Honda event The Langston University Marching Pride Band recently delivered an electrifying performance at Honda’s fourth annual Battle of the Bands in Atlanta’s Georgia Dome, mesmerizing a packed house of 70,000 with dance and drill field routines, precision drumlines, high stepping dancers and drummajors. Read more. EDGE produces legislation, results in its first two years More than 100 initiatives have been implemented since Gov. Brad Henry unveiled his Economic Development Generating Excellence (EDGE) plan two years ago, according to a recent report. Highlights from the report include passage of House Bill 2661, tort reform, and Senate Bill 982, the Achieving Classroom Excellence Act, which creates public school standards that prepare students for college. RSU develops online entrepreneurial training program Rogers State University’s Innovation Center has developed an online training program to assist entrepreneurs in planning and operating a successful business. The Virtual Entrepreneurship Training Program will feature 10 self-paced, online modules on topics covering business planning, taxes, marketing, management and more. The program was developed by RSU’s Innovation Center staff with input from RSU’s business faculty. Read more. Southeastern changes nickname to meet NCAA requirements At its regular monthly last month, the Board of Regents of Oklahoma Colleges approved the recommendation of SOSU President Dr. Glen D.
