These drivers represent 22.3% of the total 129,238 drivers in 2012 motor vehicle crashes. Pickup truck drivers were involved in 36.0% of the total 70,669 reported crashes in 2012. Driver Injury Severity, Age & Sex Of the 28,834 pickup truck drivers in motor vehicle crashes in 2012, 152 were killed and 2,186 were seriously injured. Males represented 78.1% of the pickup truck drivers involved in crashes. Of the 28,834 pickup truck drivers involved in crashes, 19.9% were age 21‐29, 17.1% were age 30‐39 and 15.9% were age 40‐49.
