This publication is a compilation of related reports issued by USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) in an effort to provide a complete source of statistics relevant to the pork industry. Though many of the statistics in this publication can be accessed through our website on a monthly basis at: www.nass.usda.gov/ Publications, this Oklahoma Field Office summary will be issued each quarter following the release of the USDA-NASS quarterly Hogs and Pigs report. This year is a “Census of Agri-culture” year! Forms for the 2012 Census of Agriculture will be mailed to all known agriculture operations in late December 2012. Wilbert Hundl, Jr. Director Oklahoma Field Office USDA-NASS OKLAHOMA FIELD OFFICE Oklahoma’s December 2011 - February 2012 pig crop at 1.85 million head was up 4 per-cent from a year ago. Sows farrowed, at 190,000, were up 3 percent from the number farrowed during the previous quarter.
