OKJobMatch.com Wins Southern Growth Award
DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE
Every year the Southern Growth Policies Board recognizes one project from each southern state for its innovation in workforce and education. For the state of Oklahoma, the 2012 Southern Growth Innovator Award was given to the Oklahoma Department of Commerce for the development of OKJobMatch.com.
Southern Growth is a non-partisan public policy think tank based in North Carolina. Thirteen southern states are members of the group —Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mis-sissippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. The organization provides policy guidance to member states by identifying goals and objec-tives that result in higher quality of life in the region.
Created by Commerce, OKJobMatch.com is a free website that uses an easy to understand question-and-answer format to help job seekers create a resume, post their resume and connect with em-ployers across Oklahoma.
Commerce Chief Administrative Officer Mike Widell and Deputy Secretary for Workforce Development Norma Noble accepted the award during Southern Growth’s 2012 Chairman’s Conference June 25-26 in Chattanooga, TN.
