MINUTES OF THE 36TH MEETING
RED RIVER COMPACT COMHISSION
DALLAS, TEXAS

The 36th Meeting of the Red River Compact Commission was held in
the Southland Hotel, Dallas, Texas, on 21 February 1966, beginning at
10:00 A.M. Attached is a list of those present.
The minutes of the 35th Meeting were approved without change •
A wo!"king draft of the Compact, p!'~?ared by the Legal and Engi:neeri:1g
Advisory Committees, was presented to the Committee and was reviewed in
detail. 110difications were made and the resulting draft, copy attached,
was approved by the Commissioners for review by State and Federal agencies.
The Commissioners, in approving the draft, stated that the draft represents
views that they would support.
Hr. Belanger, Chairman of the Legal Advisory Committee, is to prepare
a copy of the draft and transmit it to Mr. Vandertulipwho will have
copies made and distributed to the Commissioners and the Federal repre-sentatives,
who will in turn circulate copies to obtain the views of
State and Federal agencies.
The preparation of an engineerin" report "as assigned to the
Engineering Advisory Committee. The possibility of having the report
prepared by a consultant was discussed. The representatives of the four
states agreed that this procedure was desirable.
It was tentatively agreed that the next meeting would be held in
Shreveport, following the meeting of the Red River Valley Association
