The 43d Meeting of the Red River Compact Commission ;vas convened by
the Chainnan, ~1ajor General Rollins, at 9:45 a.m., in the Adolphus Hotel,
Dallas, Texas. An attendance list is attached.
General Rollins welcomed Mr. Ralph Elliott, of Texas, and Mr. Dan Cl'es ap,
of Louisiana, as new members of the Commission. Each Commissioner introduced
the other representatives from his State, and the representatives of Federal
agencies were recognized.
Next, the Minutes of the 42d Meeting of the Commission were approved
as drafted.
Mr. Forrest Nelson, Chainnan of the Engineering Advisory Committee, prc-sented
a summaI)' of the committee report to the CoITlllission, dated June 1970,
using slides to illustrate the infonnation contained in the report. Pertinent
data assembled include such items as topography, climatology, stream-
£loN, developed and potential water resource proj ects, and allocated water
use. At the conclusion of the presentation, the Commission officially re-ceived
tlle report and commended the Thlgineering Advisory Committee for an
outstanding job.
Mr. Nelson also gave a status report on progress toward recommendations
to the Commission on the division of water in tlle five reaches.
(1) Readl 1. Oklahoma and Texas have agreed on tlle division of water
in this reach with the exception of the North Fork. [~e Lugert-Altus
