Child Guidance…Where Families Find Solutions Child Care Warmline and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation What Is It? Oklahoma’s Results Referral Summary 155 requests were made for Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation o 105 unique centers made these requests o 8 centers declined services after request was made 96 referrals in 72 unique centers were completed during FY 2012 o 70 were requested and completed during FY 2012 o 26 were requested during FY 2011and completed in FY 2012 Averages per referral o 6.36 visits per referral o 11.11 visit hours per referral Visit Summary 39 clinicians from 5 agencies conducted visits during FY 2012 1192 total visits were made during FY 2012 1,977.8 total visit hours conducted during FY 2012 average hours per visit – 1.66 hours Services were provided to assist Child Care Facilities in 19 counties Agency Summary 24 Child Guidance clinicians conducted visits 955 visits were made Total visit hours-1,511 Average hours/visit-1.6 108 total referrals 72 unique child care centers served Average hours/referral-14 The Child Care Warmline and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation services are provided in partnership with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS) and the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS). The Child Care Warmline offers free telephone consultation to child care providers to support them in caring for young children. Consultants can also refer providers to appropriate services and resources within their communities. More young children are exhibiting challenging behaviors, and families with children in child care are experiencing more stress. Child care centers and family homes that have an OKDHS subsidy contract may receive on-site professional consultation on a regular basis upon request through the Child Care Warmline, 1-888-574-5437.
