SIDE BY SIDE OF OKLAHOMA PASS STRANDS AND COMMON CORE STATE STANDARDS PASS PASS Common Core State Standard A 1 Standard 1: Algebraic Reasoning: Patterns and Relationships The student will use a variety of problemsolving approaches to model, describe and extend patterns. A 1.1 Describe, extend and create patterns using concrete objects (e.g., sort a bag of objects by attributes and orally communicate the pattern for each grouping). OA.5 4 Generate and analyze patterns. Generate a number or shape pattern that follows a given rule. Identify apparent features of the pattern that were not explicit in the rule itself. For example, given the rule ―Add 3‖ and the starting number 1, generate terms in the resulting sequence and observe that the terms appear to alternate between odd and even numbers. Explain informally why the numbers will continue to alternate in this way. A 1.2 Describe, extend and create patterns with numbers in a variety of situations (e.g., addition charts, skip counting, calendars). A 1.3 Demonstrate number patterns by counting as many as 100 objects by 1's, 2's, 5's and 10's. CC.1 K Know number names and the count sequence. Count to 100 by ones and by tens. * Legends/Abbreviations can be found in a separate table. Strand and Standard Strand Standard # Grade FIRST GRADE
