Re: Property located in <<PROJECT LOCATION>>
Dear <<LANDOWNER>>,
The OERB' s Environmental Consultant, BEACON Environmental Assistance Corporation, has
received your response to our inquiry regarding historic oilfield activity on your property that
may qualify for restoration. Thank you for your response.
By Oklahoma statute, potential restoration sites must be approved as orphaned and abandoned by
the Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC), which has regulatory jurisdiction over oil and
gas activities in Oklahoma. BEACON Environmental has submitted the information regarding
the historic oilfield activity and a description of the surface damages to the OCC for further
consideration. This process may take up to sixty days.
During this time, you may be contacted by an OCC Field Inspector to gain access to the site(s).
After the OCC has referred the site(s) to the OERB, a Right of Entry document will be forwarded
for your written approval. Once the Right of Entry is received by OERB, it will be processed
and forwarded to BEACON Environmental. A Project Manager from BEACON Environmental
will contact you by telephone to schedule an appointment to visit the sites. We ask for your
patience as projects are normally worked in the order that they are received.
BEACON Environmental Assistance Corporation represents the OERB in the on-site process of
identifying abandoned well locations and associated sites. If you have further questions, or
require additional assistance, please contact Pete Craig with BEACON Environmental at (800)
501-0267 x135. If you would like to find out more about how the OERB is cleaning up
Oklahoma, please visit www.OERB.com.
Sincerely,
G. Phil Spurlin, Consultant
